Fig. 5 section hung on Fig. 1B

Morley et al. (2022), Khao Khwang Fold and Thrust Belt. The cross-section is cut at its projection joint beside P, each piece sits on its own map trace, and both are swept along the thrust grain until they join.

Sweep along the thrust grain

The southern piece is swept east and the northern piece west along curved strike lines. Once they overlap, any cut across strike shows the whole Fig. 5, twisting from 039° in the west to 355° in the east.

Strike lines follow the two red thrusts traced from Fig. 1B.

Click points on the map to draw a line X to X′, then double-click or press Enter to finish. The section is read from the swept ground at full sweep, with the current guide and bend.

Faults

Draw a planar fault with two clicks on the map, then set its dip, sense and displacement. Faults act in list order, oldest first, so a later fault offsets the earlier ones. The swept ground, sections and logs all follow them.

Model geology on the DEM

Drapes the model on the real ground surface. Where the ground lies below the level of the Fig. 5 surface, deeper units crop out; faults offset the outcrop pattern. Raise ground opacity to see it.

Both reliefs come from the Copernicus GLO-30 DSM tiles N14 E100 and N14 E101 in UTM 47N. RRIM follows Chiba et al. (2008): redness from slope, brightness from positive minus negative openness (900 m radius, 8 directions), computed at 30 m and averaged to 60 m. In Side by side, drag the divider across the view.

The deep structure in Fig. 5 is schematic. The paper states there is no control at depth, so the swept ground and its virtual logs are a reading of the drawing, not a prediction. The swept ground is not yet matched to the surface map.

Scales used: map 23.3 px/km, section 63.3 px/km at 400 dpi, V = H.

Viewer v2.0. Method: Lineament-Guided Section Sweep (LGSS) read by inverse mapping, with user faults.
